Ms. McCartt from the Children’s Museum visited GCA’s second graders. She brought with her a wealth of knowledge about Ancient Egypt and Economics. Students took a journey to Ancient Egypt to learn about their customs, dress, and architecture. They were able to play an Ancient Egyptian game much like our game of backgammon. Then students made a Cartouche—a name tag placed around an Egyptian neck. Perhaps the favorite part was building pyramids and placing animals on a floor map of Ancient Egypt.
