Guardian Christian Academy is accredited by both ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and AdvancEd.
Guardian Christian Academy also has membership in:
VCPE (Virginia Counsel of Private Educators)
NEAW (Nazarene Education Association Worldwide)
Guardian Christian Academy is established as an auxiliary of Southside Church of the Nazarene (SNC) and is set up as a 501-3C. Though legally and financially separate, GCA functions as a ministry of SNC, a school operating within a church. Guardian Christian Academy has its own self-perpetuating school board.
While affiliated with Southside Church of the Nazarene, doctrine per se is not taught. All subjects are biblically integrated. However, biblical integration and instruction are based on the beliefs that are common to evangelical churches. For more information, refer to the Mission, Vision, and Statements of Faith.
The School Board of Guardian Christian Academy is a self-perpetuating board. School board members are responsible to assist the administrators in approving policies through which the work of the GCA administrators and staff is accomplished; responsibilities do not include the day-to-day operation of the school since the board functions as an advisory board. School board members love the Lord, children, and the community. In addition, they possess leadership qualities and are committed to using their abilities and time to make a difference for Christ. They articulate with diplomacy, sensitivity, and clarity. Each has a personal relationship with Christ. A specific level of commitment to the school, the individual member’s local church, and to the Lord is required of a school board member who serves with Guardian Christian Academy.
Accredited by ACSI, Guardian Christian Academy is a Christ-centered school offering Preschool - High School, Child Care, Before and After School Care, and Summer Programs and Camps.
