Guardian Christian Academy was originally established in 1975 as Meadowbrook Preschool which was located on Cogbill Road. It was a half-day preschool program that provided a Christian environment where children were nurtured, educated, and taught to love the Lord. Even then there were dreams to extend our programs and services to reach more children in the community.
When Southside Nazarene Church relocated to the corner of Route 288 and Courthouse Road in 1999, the school incorporated, becoming its own separate legal entity under the name Guardian Christian Academy. Day care services were made available, the Before and After School programs were added, and an elementary school was birthed. Music, Art, PE, Spanish, Library, technology instruction, and competitive sports rounded out the elementary education. Throughout that time period, the dreams for the addition of a high school grew. GCA now provides quality educational services through 12th grade along with summer programming.
Space for further growth became a concern for both Guardian Christian Academy and Southside Church of the Nazarene. As a result, a site application was filed with Chesterfield County as a key step towards meeting the needs that healthy growth brings. GCA has added two additional buildings with the goal of ultimately building an independent facility; with roughly 289 acres of land, many dreams can become realities.
Today Guardian Christian Academy provides for children ages 2 through High School.
