It is the desire of Guardian Christian Academy to provide a safe and caring environment in which children are able to learn both academic content and biblical truths.  Biblical values and moral ethics are integrated into the academic curriculum to help children adopt a biblical world view and develop into well-rounded individuals.  Christian values are taught with individualized love and attention from teachers who are passionate about teaching, the Lord, and children.  This education is based on the following Statements of Faith:

  1. We believe in the full inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, by which we understand the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, given by divine inspiration, inherently revealing the will of God concerning us in all things necessary to our salvation (Luke 24:44-47; John 10:35; 1 Corinthians 15).
  1. We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe; that He only is God, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose. The God who is holy love and light is Triune in essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1; Leviticus 19:2; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Isaiah 5:16; 6:1-7; 40:18-31; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; John 14:6-27; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:4-6; Ephesians 2:13-18; 1 John 1:5; 4:8).
  1. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Triune Godhead; that He was eternally one with the Father; that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, that is to say the Godhead and manhood, are thus united in one Person very God and very man, the God-man. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that He truly arose from the dead and took again His body, together with all things appertaining to the perfection of man’s nature, wherewith He ascended into heaven and is there engaged in intercession for us, and has promised His personal return in power and Glory (Matthew 1:20-25; 16:15-16; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1-18; Acts 2:22-36; Romans 8:3, 32-34; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:12-22; 1 Timothy 6:14-16; Hebrews 1:1-5; 7:22-28; 9:24-28; 1 John 1:1-3; 4:2-3, 15, John 14:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
  1. We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are in need of Spiritual rebirth. When we confess with our mouth and repent by turning away from sin, the power of God’s spirit will forgive you, making it as if you have never sinned (justify), regenerate (give you a new heart) and adapt you into His forever family. While the consequences for sin may need to be faced, the sin confessed is forgiven and forgotten by God through the atoning work of Jesus on the Cross (2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalms 32:5-6; 51:1-17; Isaiah 55:6-7; Jeremiah 3:12-14; Ezekiel 18:30-32; 33:14-16; Mark 1:14-15; Luke 3:1-14; 13:1-5; 18:9-14; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 17:30-31; 26:16-18; Romans 2:4; 2 Corinthians 7:8-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; 2 Peter 3:9).
  1. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection where they stand before the judgment seat of Christ (John 5:28-29).
  1. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).
  1. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20).
  1. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:20-25, I Corinthians 7:2-5).
  1. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
  1. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (inclusive of adultery, fornication which includes bestiality, incest, pornography, and bisexual, homosexual, transgender, and bisexual behavior/conduct) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:24-27).
  1. We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalms 139; Genesis 2:7, 9:6; Exodus 20:13; 21:12-16, 22-25; Leviticus 18:21; Job 31:15; Psalms 22:9; 139:3-16; Isaiah 44:2, 24; 49:5; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:15, 23-25, 36-45; Acts 17:25; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:16; 7:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6).
  1. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
  1. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the policies of Guardian Christian Academy.

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Guardian Christian Academy’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the Lead Pastor or Senior Pastor of Southside Nazarene Church – as the GCA School Board Chairman – is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
