In response to a growing number of parents who feel their children are ready for a program more challenging than K4, we have a Junior Kindergarten program.  This is a five day-a-week, full-day program and is more academic in its approach.  Many students come out of the JK classroom with not only academic readiness skills but also with greater confidence and maturity. To qualify for the classroom, a child must turn 5 years of age before December 31st.

Standards for the classroom include:

  • A degreed instructor
  • A minimum of 10 students; maximum of 20 with an aide.
  • Utilization of A Beka curriculum for JK
  • Student materials from A Beka.
  • Appropriately sized tables/desks and chairs.
  • Instructional hours between 8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday through Friday.
  • P.E., Music, and Library classes
  • Recess and rest time after lunch.
  • Student Evaluations

As in the Preschool program, parent conferences are available upon request.
