Guardian Elementary (Kindergarden-5th Grade)

Academic Excellence

Our elementary teachers are committed to the development of strong minds and Godly character. Each child is viewed as an individual with specific strengths and characteristics. Our curriculum is designed to include the skills and concepts from Virginia’s SOL’s while integrating Biblical Worldview & STEM-based learning across the content. Literacy skills are taught and reinforced across all grade levels and subject areas.

Lower and Upper elementary programs focus on the five basic components of literacy while helping students understand the science of reading. Early literacy development and math skills are consistently and intentionally taught and reviewed to maintain a high degree of retention. Science, Social Studies, and Bible round out our core course curriculum.

The elementary academic curriculum is supplemented with:

  • Physical Education
  • Library
  • Music
  • Art
  • Technology
  • Spanish/French
  • Field Trips
  • Age-appropriate chapels
  • Community service projects

Our students participate in ACSI Student Activities across the state, such as Math Olympics, Spelling Bees, Science Fairs, Creative Writing Festivals, Art Festivals. They also participate in GCA’s annual Christmas Musical.

Students in Kindergarten-5th grade can participate in GCA
Recreational Leagues to include, soccer, basketball, and flag football. 5th grade students may be eligible to participate in GCA Athletics to include volleyball, basketball, baseball, soccer and cross country upon
approval of the Athletic Director.  Students in 1st grade and above are eligible to try out for competition & sideline cheer. Teamwork, sportsmanship, Christ-like responses, and the setting and achieving of personal goals are emphasized along with game-skill development.
